Canadian Experience Class
In 2009, Immigration Canada made changes to the immigration system that created greater flexibility to allow skilled workers and students to settle in Canada.
The “Canadian Experience Class” is a newer method for prospective immigrants to gain their Canadian permanent resident status. In a nutshell, foreign workers or students that are studying or working already in Canada can make an application for permanent residence while they remain in the country. This is a benefit for both the potential immigrant and the employer who hired them since the foreign worker will not have to leave the country in order to apply.
Another benefit of the “Canadian Experience Class” is that those who qualify through this stream do no have to meet the Canadian immigration points threshold. The points system was criticized in the past for barring well-trained and experienced foreign workers who wanted to immigrate to Canada, had employers who wanted to hire them, had the skills we needed as a country, but just could not get the necessary points to immigrate.
The “Canadian Experience Class” attempts to solve this loop-hole. To find out if you or one of your loved ones can qualify for this immigration stream, please contact one of our Make it Canada consultants today.
